We’re committed to supporting all of our students – present and past – which is why post-Workshop support is important to us! Learning is a highly individual process, and while a few days at one of our Workshops may be all one person needs to be off and running trimming their own horse’s hooves – especially if those hooves are relatively normal and sound – others may need or want more advanced and situation-specific assistance. Others may find that after the Workshop has finished and they’ve had some time and space to allow the Workshop content (and it’s a lot of information!) to sink in, additional questions occur to them as they begin to contemplate how all this relates to their own horse’s feet. And still others may simply want to take advantage of the fact that we’re constantly revising our Workshop material based on ours and others’ research and experiences, and come back to see what’s new! To try and meet everyone’s needs, we have several additional options available following your Workshop experience.
Return to the Workshop
Anyone who has already attended our Hoof Care for Horse Owners Workshop can come back to any subsequent Workshop offering for the greatly-reduced price of only $730. This price includes four (4) days of lunches & dinners and all Workshop materials.
A Day in the Field
For more personalized individual instruction, we also have opportunities for students to spend a day – or several days – with one or both of us in one of three (3) places: in the Akron, OH USA area; in the Santa Fe or Taos, NM USA area; or at your own location.
In the first two instances – you traveling to us – the price is $150 per day, and you’ll spend the day traveling with us to clients, watching us trim, and asking whatever training, trimming, and/or management questions you may have. Options for you to trim will be available if desired, and we tailor what horses we see that day to your specific requests to the extent possible. A typical day is 6 – 8 hours long, including lunch, and you’ll typically see 5 – 8 horses.
In the last situation – us traveling to you – the price is $300 or $600 per day, depending on whether you want one or both of us, respectively, plus the cost of travel. We can spend the time as you wish: demonstrating how to train and trim your horse(s), working with you to train and trim your horse(s), and/or answering training, trimming, and management-related questions. A typical day is 6 – 8 hours long, including lunch.
Private Consultations
We’re also happy to assist you via Zoom, telephone call, and/or email. There is no charge for answering straightforward questions via email or text message. Questions that require more lengthy answers are usually better addressed in a Zoom meeting or telephone call; we charge $65 for a one (1)-hour consultation.
Advanced Classes
We’re pleased to announce that we’ll soon be offering an extra day of advanced classes immediately following the Workshop! We’ll cover a variety of topics, including laminitis, understanding radiographs, navicular disease, lameness identification, behavior, and nutrition, and you’ll be able to attend the advanced topics day with or without pairing it with any or all of the preceding Hoof Care for Horse Owners Workshop days.
Consider Certification
We’re also in the process of developing our own hoof care certification program. While it won’t be easy, we’ll make certain you’ll be well-prepared to provide top-notch, comprehensive hoof care to horses with every conceivable pathology and appropriate advice to their owners. Stay tuned!
